LSC DEVELOP YOUR SONGWRITING SKILLS EVENING CLASSES (DEVON AND LONDON)
During these 6 week evening class courses (7.00 to 9.00 pm) you will explore all elements of your songwriting (structure, lyrics, harmony, rhythm, pulse, hooks etc), and develop and refine your skills through writing a new song each week, to a brief given by your tutor at each class. Course content focuses on these songs that you each create and also includes listening to and analysing a variety of known and lesser-known songs plus discussion about song writing theory and practice.
IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU?
This six week songwriting evening class course is for those who are already engaged in the art of songwriting, and wish to develop and their skills further.

12 SONGS WEEKENDS
12 Songs weekends are an intensive collaborative writing and live performance opportunity.
IS THIS COURSE FOR YOU?
These weekends are designed for those already engaged in song writing and performance and who relish the opportunity of an intensive, focused and fun weekend ending with a BIG GIG.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
It works like this:
Day One: You show up with a song you have written. This first evening is really a ‘masterclass’ session – where we listen to all the songs and you receive feedback and suggestions from the tutors and participants on any aspect of your presentation – the song itself and your performance.
Day Two: Is a mad scrabble where you pull together groups from within the (max) 13 participants and begin the rehearsal process for the BIG GIG on Day Three.
Day Three: Is all about preparation for the BIG GIG in the evening – at a suitable, well known local venue.

THE ENGAGED SONGWRITER Professional Diploma Course: Commencing October 15th 2011
This is a year long, part time course for songwriters, generally 18+, who have a serious commitment to developing their song writing, songwriting and performance or composition to a professional level.
Group masterclass and presentation sessions, musicianship skills for songwriters sessions, mentoring through regular one to one tutorials, evening sessions on building a career in the music business today, set assignments and a performance weekend.
DATES 2011/2012 (all group days are held in London, Clapham Common) all 11.00am to 6.00pm
Saturday 15th October - Intro day: first group presentation; song analysis; setting the scene
Saturday 19th November - Musicianship for songwriters day (focus on lyric writing)
